Nino Künzli 教授擁有巴塞爾大學(xué)的醫(yī)學(xué)博士學(xué)位、美國(guó)加州大學(xué)伯克利分校的公共衛(wèi)生碩士和博士學(xué)位，從事空氣污染和健康方面研究已達(dá) 33 年。曾任南加州大學(xué)副教授（2002-2005）和巴塞羅那環(huán)境流行病學(xué)研究中心ICREA教授（2006-2009），主要研究方向包括環(huán)境空氣污染暴露科學(xué)和流行病學(xué)，并結(jié)合健康影響評(píng)估指導(dǎo)決策。Künzli教授長(zhǎng)期在世界衛(wèi)生組織等政策相關(guān)的委員會(huì)任職，并擔(dān)任瑞士聯(lián)邦空氣衛(wèi)生委員會(huì)主席。自 2020 年起，他是氣候與清潔空氣聯(lián)盟 (CCAC) 科學(xué)顧問(wèn)委員會(huì)的成員。2016-2021 年，他在世界衛(wèi)生組織（WHO）空氣質(zhì)量指南制定小組任職。目前擔(dān)任瑞士公共衛(wèi)生學(xué)院 (SSPH+) 的院長(zhǎng)。
報(bào)告摘要
In 2021, WHO published an update of its Air Quality Guidelines (AQG). The AQG provide science based advice to the national policy makers for the setting of legally binding national air quality standards. Compliance of air quality with the WHO AQG values will prevent adverse effects of ambient air pollution on public health. The AQG are based on the most recent scientific evidence of long-term and short-term health effects of ambient air pollutants. Since the publishing of the last AQG in 2005, a very large and strong scientific literature emerged documenting the health effects of air pollutants also at rather low levels of concentrations – in fact at levels clearly below the 2005 AQG values. Thus, this new literature forced WHO to lower the 2021 AQG values. The presentation will summarize the evidence of the health effects of ambient air pollution, the new methods of WHO to derive AQG values to protect public health, and the local and global challenges and opportunities of those new AQG values for policy makers willing to sustainably protect the health of the people.
