6Earlier, on the night of 12-13 September 1950, the British company had participated in a landing?operation at Kunsan on the west coast of South Korea as part of an attempt to distract North?Korean attention from the coming landing?at Inch'on. The unit had then returned to Japan and been attached to Naval Forces,?Far East, until 20 November when, at its own request to serve with American marines, it returned to Korea and was attached to the 1st Marine Division.
