After you left Yuri Milner’s operation, what did you do?

I joined a company called Xiaomi where I initially was the CFO and then ran the global operation for the company.

Ok. So you did that for a while and a headhunter called you up and said guess what, we want you to come to ByteDance or how did that happen?

It wasn’t headhunter. I’ve stayed very close to the folks of ByteDance because my early relationship with them. So they reached out.

There is a little known fact about me which I used to be a creator. I actually had 185,000 followers on my account and so Ive you know had to go through that process of learning how to connect with my followers and using the product and it was an amazing way.I found the product so amazing in terms of being able to communicate the messages I wanted to my followers.so I love the product. I’ve known the team for a long time.I think the mission is something that I really truly believe in. So when the opportunity opened up, it was very organic for me.

Do you have 185,000 followers now?

I did.我過去有。

You did.now you’ve given them up or what do you have now? 你過去有，你放棄了么或者你現(xiàn)在有什么？

That account was used to sell products so I have since transitioned into sort of a more consumer-based, a more sort of personal account. 我的賬戶過去是賣東西的。后來我更換到更偏向消費(fèi)群，更是一個個人賬戶。

All right. So you were recruited to become the CFO of Bytedance. 好，所以你被聘為字節(jié)跳動的財務(wù)總監(jiān)了。

Yes.是的

And you had that job. You’re the CFO of ByteDance and after just 5 weeks, they promoted you to be the CEO of Tiktok. 你得到了那份工作，作為字節(jié)跳動的財務(wù)經(jīng)理，五周之后，他們提拔你為抖音的首席執(zhí)行官。

It was after a couple of months. 是幾個月之后。

So was that a promotion? 那是晉升了么？

I think it’s the nature of job is very different. 工作的性質(zhì)不一樣。
