今天繼續(xù)聊詞匯——
a C3/C4 crop——
生物學(xué)專有名詞，碳三植物和碳四植物，碳四植物光合作用的效率高，低二氧化碳環(huán)境下成活率高，所以這里會希望基因編輯碳三植物，使其能進行碳四植物的光合作用，即提高光的利用效率；
crop，名詞和動詞兩種形式——
名詞，指莊稼、產(chǎn)量，還有一些特別的用法；
騎馬相關(guān)：短鞭，a riding crop；
頭發(fā)相關(guān)：短發(fā)，a crop of hair/curls一頭短發(fā)/短卷發(fā)；
鳥類相關(guān)：嗉囊；
名詞搭配一：produce a fine crop of something某物大豐收；
名詞搭配二：a fall in the crop of something某物收成下降；
名詞搭配三：look forward to a? bump crop期盼大豐收；
名詞搭配四：a crop of people/things在一起的一群人，同時發(fā)生的一堆事。
動詞，指剪（頭發(fā)、照片）、（動物）啃吃、（作物）有收成、（土地）種上了莊稼；
動詞搭配一：cropped hair剪短的頭發(fā)；
動詞搭配二：somebody/something is cropped from the photograph某人/物從照片上剪下去了；
動詞搭配三：a place is cropped某地種上了莊稼。
photosynthesis——
photo-前綴，表示光，一般出現(xiàn)在專有名詞里面，直接譯成光……即可，如photocatalytic光催化的，photochemical光化學(xué)的，photoelectric光電的。
syn-前綴，表示一起、同時、聯(lián)合、相似，類似的單詞還有，syndrome綜合征，synonym同義詞，synchronic共時性的。
synthesis表示綜合、合成，photosynthesis即是光合作用；
名詞搭配一：the synthesis of something（A） with/and something（B）A與B的結(jié)合；
名詞搭配二：a synthesis of a substance某物質(zhì)的合成。
動詞形式：synthesize，合成、綜合；
動詞搭配一：synthesize something合成某物質(zhì)；
動詞搭配二：synthesize elements of things綜合了某些事物的特征。
yield——
有動詞和名詞兩種詞性——
名詞表示，產(chǎn)量、產(chǎn)出；
名詞搭配一：a high yield of something某物的豐收；
名詞搭配二：a reduction in?xxx yield某物產(chǎn)量的降低；
名詞搭配三：the yields on something某物的利潤；
名詞搭配四：give a yield of xxx% on one's investment給某人投資帶來xxx%的利潤。
動詞表示，產(chǎn)生、屈服、放棄、讓路、活動；
動詞搭配一：something yields a profit/good return/useful information/fruit某物帶來利潤/好的回報/有用的信息/結(jié)果；
動詞搭配二：?yield?to somebody/something因某人/某事物屈服（如temptation、demands、pressure）；
動詞搭配二：yield control/power讓出控制權(quán)/權(quán)力；
動詞搭配三：something（A） yields to something（B）A被B所替代；
動詞搭配四：a moving person/a vehicle yields 讓路；
動詞搭配五：something yields 某物活動了（如door）。
重要短語——
be capable of doing something：能夠做某事，寫作常用詞匯。
carry out something=implement something：執(zhí)行、實施、完成某事——
a promise一項承諾；
a threat一次威脅；
a plan一個計劃；
an order一個命令；
an inquiry/an investigation/a survey一次調(diào)查；
a policy一項政策；
changes變革；
decisions決議；
reforms改革。
