Some people think that secondary school students should study international news?as one of their subjects; but others believe that it is a waste of their valuable study?time. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

思路分析:
本題討論的是教育相關(guān)問(wèn)題,即,中學(xué)生是否有必要了解國(guó)際新聞。
如果是支持了解國(guó)際新聞的話,可以寫(xiě):1)與國(guó)際接軌,是大勢(shì)所趨,每個(gè)人遲早都得去了解國(guó)際形勢(shì);2)為大學(xué)選擇專(zhuān)業(yè),提供了一個(gè)了解某個(gè)領(lǐng)域知識(shí)的機(jī)會(huì)。
如果是不支持了解國(guó)際新聞的話,可以寫(xiě):1)國(guó)際層面的新聞超出了中學(xué)生的理解范圍;2)就眼前的情況來(lái)看,搞好主科課程才是首要的任務(wù),國(guó)際新聞可以以后再去了解;3)很多學(xué)生對(duì)于國(guó)際新聞,并沒(méi)有興趣,不用浪費(fèi)這樣的時(shí)間。

Educationalists who are concerned about study of secondary school students are?facing a choice between either setting courses on international news or putting?aside that kind of courses. For my part, I do not think it is a necessity to offer middle?school students such sort of courses.The major reason for my objection is that international news is beyond the?comprehension of middle school students. Generally, if courses about international?news are set in secondary school, a majority of the content of the curriculum are?expected to be about economy or politics. Based on the reality that most of the?teenagers are not equipped with corresponding basic knowledge and lack related?thinking training, they would like to feel at sea when they are overwhelmed in large?quantities of international news.

Another reason to strengthen my standpoint is that exposure to international news?is not indispensable to every juvenile. Unlike subjects, such as, literature, maths,science and so forth, which are fundamental to teenagers’ way of thinking for?future or for more complicated situations, international new may be important for?some people but not for others. That is to say, if some people are not interested in?international affairs or may not pursue careers at international level, gaining aglobal perspective in middle school is of no reason for them.
To sum up, considering that secondary school students would feel difficult to?understand international news and that international news will not benefit?everyone, educationalists ought not to set courses on international news.
