“Where did you go?” asked Jade.
“I went to meet my siblings.”
“Do they have any methods?”
“There is only one way, Demon’s Source Power,” said Hsi Wu.
“Demon’s Source Power! Great, Seymour!” Jade sprang to her feet.
“Jade, I’m afraid it’s not something deserving excitement.” Hsi Wu said solemnly, whose eyes were filled with sorrow.
“Do you know why us demons can live forever?”
Jade and others shook their head.
“Thousands of years ago, we are all wizards, that is, humans. However, I and my seven siblings each got a kind of Source Power by practicing magic and turned into demons. Our body and Demon Chi both exist relying on the Source Power. We can release it using ancient spells, which is a extremely immense power. However, the demons themselves and their Demon Chi will be no more in the world, forever.”
“That is to say you plan to resort to Demon Source Power to defeat Daolon Wong?” asked Captain Black.
Hsi Wu nodded.
“No! Seymour!” Jade threw herself into Hsi Wu’s arms.
“But we have no other way.” Hsi Wu closed his eyes and hung his head, three pinches of hair also drooped. “We have no time. Daolon Wong is destroying the world rapidly. It won’t be long before this shelter is also lain in ruins, under which all will perish.”
“I am a demon after all. I would apologize to you that when we protected the Book of Ages before, I still all along think of ruling the world. My lifespan is eternal. I am hard to imagine my inner heart will be how void when I say farewell to Jade. Evil will take my heart again. I am grateful to you: I feel the meaning of life only in the past one years for these thousands of years.”
“Hsi Wu, you needn’t say that. As you have put it, the evil in humans is also powerful. We may still have other ways,” said Jackie.
Suddenly, a loud bang came. The ruins above the building pressed down. Daolon Wong was still destroying the ruins into more ruinous ruins. Everyone was to sleep forever in the school.
The ruins above began to float upward. It turned out that Hsi Wu had already deployed Demon Source Power. He spread the demon wings but his body was still in the form of Seymour, eyes closed, legs slightly shivering. White light gave off from him and he rose gradually upward.
Jade who had been in Hsi Wu’s arms had to release her hands, tears in her eyes, and watched Hsi Wu rising higher and higher.
“Jade!” Hsi Wu suddenly opened wide his eyes, whose three pinched of hair that had drooped also bristled.
“Ever since you begin to trust me, you only call me Seymour but never Hsi Wu. The one you are fond of is Seymour, or the Demon Hsi Wu?”
“Hsi Wu! the Demon Hsi Wu!” Jade at last speak out the name she hardly ever spoke for one year.
Hearing Jade’s words, Hsi Wu smiled. He shut his eyes, out of which flew a line of tears.
“The great Qian, on which the appearance of everything relies, rules the sky.” Hsi Wu was reciting the ancient spell.
Hsi Wu had risen into the sky. His white light stretched upward, downward, eastward, and westward, connecting the sky and the earth, bright as a rainbow. The sullen clouds above him were penetrated to form a big hole, in which a giant green “?” appeared. Daolon Wong who was destroying the world was stricken by the light and was sucked into it.
Hsi Wu and Daolon Wong were out of sight, with only left twelve talismans and the copper coin necklace on the ground.
In Liang Village, the visitors drove the cattle to plow again.
In Tokyo, Tohru’s mother looked into the blue sky.
In Forsa, Mr. Wing and the members of the troupe walked out of the shelter.
In Wang Village, Lixia and Zhanguo’s wedding was able to continue.
In Hong Kong, the cruise ship carrying Jade’s parents returned to Victoria Harbor.
In China Town, Uncle’s Rare Finds revived its original appearance.
“Hsi Wu, I am sorry. I concealed from you all along that the petrification magic had been out of use,” said Uncle.
?
Several days later, Uncle went to China, came to the shrine of Chi Master Fong, and prayed with three sticks of incense.
It turned out that the death of Chi Master Fong was related to Daolon Wong. Daolon Wong wanted to contend for Fong’s secret magic scriptures long ago. Fong could not defeat Daolon Wong and protected the scriptures with his life.
“Master! Daolon Wong has got punished and you can rest in peace. I will not forget my mission. I will continue to pass on Good Chi Magic. Now, I have fostered a wizard of the new generation, Tohru.”

Jackie and Viper had confirmed their relationship. They will hold the engagement ceremony not too long after.
Guided by El Toro, Paco made great progress in wrestling. He won the grand prize in the junior competition.
All the Demons and Dark Wizards known to the world had been wiped out or sealed. However, the balance of Yin and Yang still exists. Where there is a demon, it’s easy for humans to go through thin; where there isn’t one, it’s hard for them to go through thick. Neither gods nor demons’ existence or nonexistence really matters. Gods are just ideal perfect humans while demons are the evil facet of them.

Inauguration ceremony of the Statue of Hsi Wu and the International Medal presentation ceremony, San Francisco.
So blue the sky, so pleasant the wind, and so fair the spring of San Francisco was. It was like the very day when Jade and Hsi Wu met for the first time.
The Statue fashioned his human form of Seymour, with the only difference of the wings spread.
“Next is the presentation of the International Medal.”
The honored guests hang the medals on the necks of everyone on the J-Team. Applause came from under the stage, making the atmosphere a little different from the solemnity of the inauguration of the Statue. As one of the heroes who should be credited with the medal, Jade wore the copper coin necklace, seized the other one, and bowed her head as if the solemn occasion had nothing to do with her.
Suddenly, she thought of something and ran away.
“Jade!” cried Jackie.
Jade ran to Section 13 where the talismans were stored.
“The Rat Talisman, turning stillness into movement.” Jade picked up the Rat Talisman, whose eyes were filled with unease and hope.
“Hii-yaah!” Jade pressed the talisman on the chest of the Statue.
Nothing happened. The hope broke. Jade sat leaning against the Statue, bowing her head between her arms.
“Sensei! Jackie! Jade is here.” Tohru found Jade first.
On seeing the Rat Talisman clenched by Jade, Jackie and the other two understood her thought at once. Jackie would always teach Jade a lesson every time she fetched talismans sneakily in the past. But this time Jackie said nothing but sat beside Jade.
After a while, Jackie said: “Jade, we go home.”
“Okay, Jackie. But I want Section 13 to construct another Statue of Hsi Wu, in the form when you turned him into a stone!” Jade raised her head, from her eyes the sad mood seemed to fade a little and a gleam of light glistened.
“Okay! I call Captain Black at once.”
The thought of Jade made sense indeed. The form of humans with wings spread is not the initial form of Hsi Wu but one of his disguises. Shendu was revived using his statue of a coiled demon dragon before, maybe so was Hsi Wu.
However, Uncle had his concern.
Uncle knew nothing about Demon Source Power before. But in this period he did some research. He foreboded that even the Rat Talisman could not bring Hsi Wu back to life because according to the magic book, once the Source Power is released, it cannot be regathered, which is irreversible even by the Rat Talisman. But Uncle did not tell his thought to Jade, even not to Jackie and Tohru. He was fond of his niece and did not want to make her sad too early.
Only one day passed and Section 13 finished the Statue of Hsi Wu in the form of a coiled demon. Jade used the Rat Talisman to hex magic.
Nothing happened to the Statue.
Jade did not cry and walked back to the Rare Finds with Jackie and Tohru. No one spoke. Silent was the world.
In the Rare Finds, Jade sat on her bed.
“Jackie!” Jade shouted.
Jackie had planned not to disturb Jade and left her alone for a while. Jackie knew that offering to comfort others might play the opposite role. Only himself or herself and the time could cure all. But he indeed wanted to talk from the bottom of his heart. For one year, he had always cared only about Jade’s safety but failed to take an insight into her heart. He also hoped he could make a difference.
“Jackie, Hsi Wu is no more. You know, he and I…” faltered Jade.
“Without him…”
“Jade, without him but with us and the future,” said Jackie.
Jade bowed her head but nodded. Jade knew Jackie was right. She was a rational and independent person, she would not spoil and abandon her future like someone in a dark period. She believed that she could walk out of the shadow.
“Jade, Uncle suddenly has an idea.” Following the sound, Uncle walked into Jade’s room.
“Uncle did more research and recalled the words of Hsi Wu that day. It is probable that besides the body of demons, demons have another body of humans, which is the one before they get the Source Power. The human body was just hidden through thousands of years.”
“Then we should construct an absolutely humanlike statue!” Jade understood what Uncle meant.
“One more thing, it’s only Uncle’s guess. No such recording on any book.”
“I know, Uncle. No matter what the outcome is, I can be ready to accept it. If he knew, he wouldn’t want to see a depressed Jade.”
?
One day after in Section 13, Jade clenched the Rat Talisman in her right hand and the copper coin necklace in her left, walking to the Statue of Seymour. This time she walked steadily, bravely, and straightforwardly. All that she had experienced had made her grow up.
The moment the Rat Talisman was pressed on the Statue, light gave off from it, and the coldness of cement turned into the warmth of skin.
“Hsi Wu!”
“Jade!”
The two hugged tightly together. Jade once again put the half copper coin necklace on Hsi Wu, bursting into tears.
“Haven’t I used the Source Power? Why am I here? Where is Daolon Wong?” When a statue comes back to life, he never thinks of himself as a statue.
“Daolon Wong was defeated long ago!” said Jackie aside.
“But…why am I still alive?”
“Jade uses to Rat Talisman to revive you,” said Uncle smilingly.
Jade wept out of breath and could not speak. It had been not uncommon that tears were in Jade’s eyes and heart so far but never did she cry so aloud.
“Shendu’s Rat Talisman? But how could it go against the limitation of Demon Source Power?” Hsi Wu was still confused.
But he tried to spread his wings but failed; tried to change the weather but was unchanged. He realized that he had been a human now, back to the boy studying magic in the ancient land of China.
?
The next day, in Golden Gate Park, the early-afternoon sun sparkled on the Spreckels Lake where dozens of miniature boats sailed, propelled by a crisp breeze. In the sunshine, a pair of kites, red with long blue tails, soaring in the sky. They danced high above the west of the park, floating side by side like a pair of eyes looking down on San Francisco. Jade and Hsi Wu sat shoulder by shoulder on one of the boats, sipping juice, sharing the afternoon.
“Hsi Wu, now you no longer have magic power and can’t live forever. Do you feel a bit lost?”
“To be honest, a little. My body strength’s not as good as before and I must walk to go anywhere. But I also feel lucky.”
“Why?”
“Morning fungi know not the night and spring insects know not the autumn. The lifespan of human beings is also rather long, not to mention that loneliness over tens of centuries is no better than life within one hundred years.”
